The Grey School of Wizardry
The Grey School of Wizardry is an independent nonprofit university devoted to the academic study and practical application of Wizardry as a modern trade.
Your support helps sustain this work, expand access for pupils, strengthen faculty instruction, advance our accreditation efforts, and carry this rare educational tradition forward with the seriousness it deserves.
What your Gift Makes Possible
A gift to the Grey School of Wizardry supports something far larger than a single project or initiative. It helps sustain a living school: its pupils and faculty, its lessons and virtual campus, its scholarship programs, publications, gatherings, and the long work of building an enduring institution devoted to wisdom, responsibility, and service.
At the Grey School, pupils are learning to think carefully, communicate with clarity, recognize patterns, and carry themselves with greater intention in the communities and circumstances they touch. Your support helps create and preserve the conditions that allow that kind of growth to take root and endure.
Accreditation &
Academic Development

The Grey School has spent more than twenty years building a real educational institution around Wizardry as a modern trade. Graded coursework, faculty guidance, structured departments, virtual instruction, publishing, and long-term curriculum development all represent years of labor and refinement.
Your support helps us continue that work carefully and responsibly as we move toward formal accreditation and the next stage of the School’s growth.
Campus &
Infrastructure

Whether a pupil joins us through the virtual campus, our online lessons, or visits Highspire itself, the School exists through the spaces and systems that allow people to gather, study, and remain connected across great distances.
Donations help us maintain and improve those foundations so the work can continue steadily rather than precariously.
Scholarships &
Access

Not everyone who feels called toward this work arrives with the same means. Some of our finest pupils have come to us during difficult chapters of life, carrying real responsibilities, financial strain, or uncertain footing.
Donations enable us keep the doors of the School open to those willing to put in the effort and undertake the work seriously, even when the path before them is not an easy one.
Community &
Continuity

A school does not endure through buildings or websites alone. It endures through people who continue showing up year after year to teach, mentor, organize, refine, and carry the culture forward.
Your support helps sustain that continuity and ensures that the Grey School remains not merely an idea from the past, but a living institution with a future still ahead of it
GSW’s Next Chapter
For more than twenty years, the Grey School of Wizardry has worked to build a serious educational institution devoted to Wizardry as a modern trade of wisdom, discipline, responsibility, and service.
Over time, our faculty and pupils have built structured coursework, long-term programs of study, leadership systems, a virtual campus, publishing efforts, and a growing body of educational work grounded in thoughtful practice and real institutional continuity. What began as an ambitious vision has steadily matured into a living academic community shaped not merely by shared interests, but by shared responsibility.
The next stage in that journey is accreditation.
This process represents an opportunity to carry the seriousness of the School’s work into a wider framework of recognition and educational legitimacy. And in doing so, it allows the years of labor invested by our faculty, pupils, and supporters to stand more visibly within the broader educational world and helps ensure that the work being done here can endure with greater stability for future generations.
That matters because institutions devoted to wisdom have become increasingly rare in the modern world. We live in an age overflowing with information, yet often lacking in clarity, discernment, and spaces where people are taught how to carry knowledge responsibly. The Grey School exists because we believe those capacities can, and should, be trained deliberately.
At the same time, the School continues looking toward the future of Wizardry education itself. Alongside accreditation efforts, we are exploring long-term developments such as the eventual possibility of residency-based study at Highspire, our physical campus in New York. The vision for Highspire is a focused educational environment where pupils can gather for immersive study, practical work, mentorship, and community life grounded in the traditions and responsibilities of the School.
These goals are the natural continuation of work already underway and the next step in shaping the Grey School into a more enduring institution capable of serving pupils not merely for years, but generations, to come.
Pursuing accreditation and preparing responsibly for the School’s future both carry very real costs.
Your support helps us approach this next chapter responsibly without having to shift these costs to tuition or compromising the character and mission that made the Grey School worth building in the first place.

Long-term institutional planning and sustainability
Throughout history schools and centers of learning have endured not only because of tuition or fees, but because individuals chose to act as patrons. Long before education was standardized or commercialized, patrons helped ensure that teaching could continue and remain steady even when circumstances shifted.
At the Grey School of Wizardry, that tradition continues in a very real and practical way. Patron support helps sustain the School beyond what tuition alone can provide. It supports faculty labor, scholarships for pupils who need access, the maintenance of our digital and physical infrastructure, and long-term projects such as academic publishing and research initiatives. Quite simply, it allows the School to plan thoughtfully rather than reactively.
Over time, sustained patronage also opens the door to possibilities that would otherwise remain out of reach. In a world where education is increasingly treated as a commodity, the idea of reducing or even eliminating tuition entirely is a powerful one. While we are not there yet, patron support is one of the few paths by which such a future could responsibly be explored. It is the kind of long-term thinking that allows a school to imagine access not as an exception, but as a foundation.
Becoming a patron of GSW does not confer special access or privileges. It is an expression of belief in the School’s mission and a commitment to its continuity. If the work we’re doing here matters to you, and if you’d like to help ensure it remains available to others in the years ahead, patronage is one meaningful way to do so.
Your support helps keep the Grey School steady, accessible, and focused on the work that matters most.
