A sage is a person associated with wisdom, reflection, and continued learning.

The Sage Membership is named for the long tradition of the sage as a figure of wisdom and continued learning. A sage is not defined by haste or performance, but by the steady cultivation of insight over time. This membership was created for those who want an active and ongoing relationship with the Grey School’s academic life, whether they are beginning a formal path or continuing their studies across the seasons.

Sage Membership serves as a sustaining membership that can also carry active online tuition access. While the membership remains active, a Sage Member may be enrolled in one eligible online program path at a time, including Apprenticeship, Magister study, the School’s Cohort Program when available, or Youth Psyche where age and guardian requirements are met. Each Sage Membership also includes a monthly Grey School lesson by email, offered as a recurring point of study, reflection, and practical application.

This plan is available monthly or yearly and is well suited for current learners, alumni returning to study, families entering Youth Psyche, Magisters, Apprentices, and those who wish to remain connected to the School’s voice and academic direction while helping sustain the School. By choosing Sage Membership, members receive active educational access and continuing study material while helping support the systems, faculty preparation, lessons, vGSW, and publications that make the School’s wider work possible.

A constellation name traditionally associated with hidden knowledge, and the careful carrying of wisdom

The Ophiuchus Membership takes its name from Ophiuchus, the Serpent Bearer. The choice also carries a nod to our School’s founder, Oberon Zell, who was himself born under the sign of Ophiuchus. The serpent has often symbolized transformation and the return of life through changing seasons. For the Grey School, the image speaks to the long road of study: one path completed, another taken up, and wisdom carried forward through time.

Ophiuchus Membership is a lifetime online enrollment plan for one learner. It allows the member to pursue one eligible online tuition path at a time, then request entry into another eligible path after completion. This makes the plan suited to those who see their study of Wizardry as a continuing commitment rather than a single season of interest.

By choosing Ophiuchus Membership, a learner receives a lasting place within the School’s online academic life while helping strengthen the foundation that allows the Grey School to keep ordinary tuition paths as accessible as possible. It is a membership for those who intend to carry their studies forward, return to the work again and again, and remain part of the School’s continuing growth.

The word Castellan traditionally refers to the keeper or guardian of a castle, the person entrusted with care for the house, its gates, and its continuity. At the Grey School, Castellan Membership carries that spirit in an educational form. It is for those who wish to remain close to the School’s academic life, its gatherings, and its future.

Castellan Membership is the School’s highest long-term membership. It includes Ouroboros Membership, Sage Membership, and free attendance to Grey School events, whether virtual or in person. It is designed for those who want the fullest connection currently offered by the School: lifetime online enrollment, continuing monthly lessons, and a standing place in eligible gatherings across both the virtual and physical spaces of the Grey School.

This membership is especially suited for those who see the School as more than a place to take a few classes. Castellan Members help carry the School’s long-term educational work through their participation in a plan that provides substantial academic access and meaningful connection.
