Text Based Lessons
At The Grey School of Wizardry, the foundation of our educational experience is built upon a robust system of online, text-based lessons. Whether you’re an early riser or a night owl, our lessons are accessible whenever it suits you best, ensuring that your education fits seamlessly into your life, no matter your schedule.

As you progress through your studies, you’ll find that being able to revisit earlier lessons is invaluable, particularly when working on assignments that require a deep understanding of the concepts. Discord and vGSW
While The Grey School of Wizardry offers extensive online, text-based lessons, we also recognize the value of real-time interaction. For apprentices who thrive on lively discussion and direct engagement, our live classes held over Discord and through our virtual campus, vGSW, provide the perfect opportunity.
These sessions allow pupils to ask questions in real-time, delve deeper into particular points from their lessons, and engage in thoughtful dialogue with both instructors and peers. Whether it’s a structured class or a more open-ended discussion, these live sessions offer apprentices the chance to explore topics in greater depth and clarity.
In these live settings, the conversation flows freely, mirroring the dynamic exchanges you might expect in a physical classroom. Wizards, as you know, love to ‘chinwag,’ and these classes are designed to foster that kind of interactive, collaborative learning. The direct access to instructors and fellow pupils also means that concepts can be clarified on the spot, ideas can be debated, and insights can be shared in a way that enhances everyone’s understanding.

Classes at Highspire
In addition to our online and virtual offerings, GSW provides in-person classes at our Highspire Campus in Whitehall, NY. These classes typically span 2-3 days and include meals, offering a comprehensive and intensive educational experience. The in-depth nature of these sessions allows for a deeper exploration of the material, complemented by hands-on activities that bring the lessons to life.

Due to the enhanced nature of these classes, they are worth an additional credit compared to their online counterparts, reflecting the richer, more detailed instruction and the practical elements involved. This additional credit acknowledges the value of the hands-on experience and the opportunity to engage directly with instructors and peers in a focused, interactive setting.

Not all physical classes are available online. For example, courses like smithing, first aid training, or archery require in-person participation due to their hands-on nature. These unique offerings allow apprentices to gain practical skills that can’t be fully replicated in a virtual environment.

These in-person classes are also open to the public, providing an opportunity for non-enrolled individuals to experience the unique education offered at Highspire Manor. However, these classes are not included in regular tuition and require a fee of $250 to attend. This cost covers the enhanced learning experience, including the provided meals, and ensures that each apprentice receives the full benefit of this immersive educational opportunity.
