There are places that feel quiet even when they’re full. Highspire is one of them. The kind of place where the sound of your own steps feels louder than it ought to, where the windows catch just a little too much moonlight, and where you might sense the weight of something watching back.
This October, the manor opens its doors for something a touch more daring than our usual fare. We’re calling it A Highspire Haunt, and it offers two distinct ways to step into the experience.
For those enrolled at GSW, the 2-Day Experience invites you to stay the night, twice, in fact. Meals will be provided, and so too the company of your fellow apprentices. Thursday evening will focus on instruction: how to conduct a proper investigation, what to look for, and how to separate wind and plumbing from something more... curious. Then Friday comes, and with it, the real work! You and your peers will be given the run of the place to put those lessons to use. From study to cellar, you'll be investigating a space with a long memory, and perhaps more than a few stories left untold.
For those not joining the full experience, Friday night’s Public Investigation offers a chance to participate in that second half. You’ll be free to move about the rooms and grounds, conducting your own inquiry at your own pace. Staff will be on hand to ensure things go smoothly and to provide support where it’s needed, but make no mistake, the work of the evening will rest with you.
It’s a rare opportunity, not just for what it offers in learning or intrigue, but for the atmosphere itself. Highspire has character, You’ll see what I mean.
Whats more, all proceeds go to support the continued work of The Grey School of Wizardry. That includes maintaining Highspire, funding scholarships, and developing programs like this one for years to come.
