The Lodge Council Chronicle
Each month, our Lodge Council gathers it voices into this Chronicle as a place to speak to their Lodges, and to the wider School. We encourage you to read their words and should you have any questions, please reach out to your Lodge Prefect.
As always, we begin with a word from the Captain...

A Word from Our Captain
Hello Apprentices and Faculty,
As the calendar year turns from brilliant warmer weather into the darkness and cold of winter, it is often necessary to reflect on what brings light and love into our lives. The school has been proudly surging throughout all recent activity on the Forums, Discord, and VGSW. New apprentices have joined our ranks, and a sense of warmth and community has developed.
As a wizard, I find November essential for reflection. At the beginning, I reflect on those who have come before me, thankful for the lessons that they have taught me. My journal for the month becomes a gratitude checklist, marking each day's gratitudes, where, at the end of the month, I read it out as part of a much bigger ritual. This list becomes a beacon in the darkness of winter, reminding us, as human beings, what makes us happy.
I, especially, am thankful for the community we have here at Grey School, the friendships we have made, the lessons we are taught, and the constant pulse of the faculty and admin, making our hearts beat as one.
May our community continue to beat fiercely.
Thank you,
Captain Abbie

Winds Lodge
Hello there, Winds Lodge!
Seeing some fantastic lodge pride and representation!
25 merits from the Chest Challenge and 100 merits from the Pumpkin challenge on the VGSW; then merits abound on the school site thanks to Apprentices Burkey, Jack in the Sea, Hildebern, Robert B, Sindri, Dustin, Minerva, Phoenix, Zijian, Gaby, Deshawn, and Gaby; all bringing 59 merits from the boons alone and a 3-merit challenge this month; we winds are standing strong!
That, my friends, is a list of twelve names over the course of just one month. The merits are phenomenal, Winds Lodge Best Lodge, but we're the Society of the Four Winds, and honestly just seeing so many of us coming together brings me so much joy before even thinking about the lodge competition! I am so glad to see all of you with us! Thank you all for the support!
The berserker tournament is underway this term! First matchup had not one, but two Berserker wins between the Undines and the Gnomes! And while the Undines won the tie breaker, the Gnomes won the match by point count! The Salamanders and Whisps faced against each other in fairly quick games, and it's clear all teams are aiming to take this term seriously to bring home the cup! We Winds almost won last term's Berserker game, but, like the Undines, we lost by points despite decimating in wins! We'll need to play hard!
All events are on the vGSW! Contact me if you need troubleshooting!
Cheers, friends!
- Prefect Perkins, James

Shadows Lodge
Dear wizards,
November 2025 is not a month for passive waiting or rigid planning — it demands constant adaptation. Surprises, revelations, and turning points abound, testing flexibility and emotional composure.
The month opens with Mars entering Sagittarius (Nov 4), shifting action from deep strategy to bold exploration. Energy becomes more direct and optimistic, though impulsivity may rise. The Full Moon in Taurus (Nov 5) brings a material reckoning — revealing attachments and questioning what truly provides security.
With Venus entering Scorpio (Nov 6), relationships intensify. Surface-level harmony gives way to emotional depth, truth, and transformation. Financial matters gain complexity, especially around shared resources. Uranus retrograding back into Taurus (Nov 8) calls for stabilizing
recent changes, rebuilding foundations, and reassessing values.
Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius (Nov 9) clouds judgment and disrupts travel, learning, and communication — urging reflection on beliefs and truth. Jupiter retrograde in Cancer (Nov 11) turns expansion inward, focusing on emotional growth and roots.
Mercury conjunct Mars (Nov 12) makes words volatile — communication becomes forceful or liberating depending on intention. Sun conjunct Lilith in Scorpio (Nov 18) exposes hidden desires and suppressed truths, initiating deep self-revelation. The New Moon in Scorpio (Nov 20) marks psychological rebirth.
As the Sun (Nov 22) and later Venus (Nov 30) move into Sagittarius, optimism and openness return. Mercury direct in Scorpio (Nov 29) restores clarity and depth of understanding. November transforms from turmoil to renewal — forcing profound inner change before reopening horizons.

Prefect Flaming Phoenix

Excellent work! Looking forward to seeing your efforts continue as you learn and grow!
We recently had the 2025 vGSW Halloween Moot which was a spooky great time! We even came out of it with 75 merits to add to our total for taking second in the Pumpkin Growing Contest! Great job!
Speaking of vGSW, there’s some new things afoot!
In our Lodge Tower there are a couple tablets on lecterns on the ground floor. One will have this newsletter and perhaps a message from me! The other one needs some other Stones to participate. We are 3/5 unique Stones Lodge members away from unlocking some quests to do!
As we head into this harvest season, we also have our own Moot coming up on the 20th! I am looking for one or two more participants to join me with some presentations on vGSW to hold in our own Tower. Please contact me with any questions or interest!
Thank you everyone for your efforts so far this term!
Let’s keep rocking and rolling!

Flames Lodge
Happy November, dear Flames Lodge. As the hours shorten, and the winter frost steps closer, we move into a time for rest and reflection. Fresh off the energy from our wacky and hilarious Halloween Moot, this
is the time to focus on your last objectives for the year; be it finishing your classes, or looking forward to the holidays ahead of us.
We competed fiercely this Moot with the first Berserker match of the term - an endeavour that I very much welcome any budding team members to please sign up and give it a go! We compete for the glory of our Lodge and to show off our skills, but most importantly, to have fun. New to Berserker? Practice is
regularly scheduled by Prefect Marco Cerri from the Waters Lodge; or if you would prefer, learn more about Berserker and play it on Steam (PC) or on your Android device (Google Play).
Merit wise - I see many of you racking up them up through your classes - attaining scores of 95% or higher! I hope that your academic momentum keeps up as we progress into this November, securing our position as 2nd on the Merit Leaderboard.... (helped by our Halloween Pumpkin!)
Event wise - I will be hosting presentations as part of the Apprentice Aid event; with a special starter from Altiriel of the Waters Lodge this Thursday 6th. Have a topic or class you really enjoyed, and wish to share it with your fellow Lodge members and students? Drop me a PM on Discord, and we can start planning
your presentation.
Stay warm, have fun and study hard.
Prefect Ravenway

Waters Lodge
Greetings Waters Lodge, and welcome back to our usual monthly gathering!
We’ve entered the month of November — the time when fallen leaves make way for the winter chill, my favorite season of all. The warmth of the fireplace brings back childhood memories of snowy afternoons spent playing outside, and of returning home to the comforting scent of burning wood that warmed my soul. This is the season when a cup of hot chocolate becomes the perfect companion for our magickal studies…
But back to us — the weekly Berserker Practice and Study Group events are going quite well. I’m proud to see that several Apprentices are fully dedicating themselves to the growth of our Lodge, earning merits and credits through their academic work. I hope to see even more participation in the coming weeks, especially within the virtual campus (vGSW), where I remind you that by logging in daily and visiting the Commons, you’ll find the Unicorn Counter. Clicking it will bring one merit to our Lodge, and the total will be added to the final count at the end of this term.
Lastly, I’d like to remind everyone interested that our Berserker Tournament team is almost complete — we’re still looking for a few more members! If you feel the waves calling you to this task, remember that I’m always available via Discord message.
Yours in service,
Prefect Marcus Cerri
